Report: Bengals, Mixon agree to 4-year extension
The Cincinnati Bengals and running back Joe Mixon agreed to a four-year contract extension that will keep him with the club for five more seasons, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Mixon's new deal is worth $48 million, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports. His $12 million in average annual value will make him the NFL's sixth-highest-paid tailback.
The 24-year-old was entering the final year of his rookie deal and was reportedly considering holding out of training camp if he didn't receive an extension.
Mixon, Cincinnati's 2017 second-round pick, attended the start of camp but was sidelined recently as he's been dealing with migraines.
He got off to a slow start last season but finished with 1,137 rushing yards and five touchdowns in 16 games, adding 287 receiving yards and three scores.
