Browns acquire Ronnie Harrison from Jaguars
The Cleveland Browns acquired safety Ronnie Harrison from the Jacksonville Jaguars in exchange for a 2021 fifth-round draft pick, the team announced Thursday.
Cleveland was short on safety depth after second-round rookie Grant Delpit tore his Achilles last week.
Harrison was the Jaguars' third-round pick in the 2018 draft out of Alabama. He excels near the line of scrimmage as a box safety and accumulated 71 tackles, two sacks, and two interceptions last season.
The trade continues Jacksonville's offseason overhaul. Harrison joins Calais Campbell, A.J. Bouye, and Yannick Ngakoue as defensive starters dealt ahead of the 2020 campaign.
Harrison will likely compete with Karl Joseph, Andrew Sendejo, and Sheldrick Redwine for snaps in Cleveland's secondary.
