The Las Vegas Raiders have released safety Damarious Randall despite guaranteeing his base salary for the 2020 season, sources told NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.
Randall received $1.5 million guaranteed with a chance to reportedly earn another $1.75 million via incentives when he inked a one-year agreement in April. However, the Raiders will owe him less if he signs with another team.
Randall joined the Raiders following a two-year stint with the Cleveland Browns, with whom he started all 26 games he appeared in. The 28-year-old owns 14 career interceptions over five professional seasons split between the Browns and Green Bay Packers.
With Randall out of the fold, the Raiders figure to give most of the safety snaps to Johnathan Abram, Jeff Heath, and Erik Harris. Nickel corner Lamarcus Joyner could also factor into the equation at safety.
Randall posted 61 tackles, six pass breakups, and 2.5 sacks for the Browns last season.
