The Houston Texans and Deshaun Watson agreed to a long-term contract extension, the star quarterback announced Saturday.

Terms of the deal weren't officially disclosed, but sources told Ian Rapoport of NFL Network that Watson signed a four-year contract extension worth $160 million.

Watson, who had two years remaining on his rookie deal, is now under contract through the 2025 season, and his annual salary trails only Patrick Mahomes.

The 2017 first-round pick reportedly also received $111 million in guaranteed money.

Watson established himself as one of the NFL's top quarterbacks during his first three seasons in the league. The 24-year-old made the Pro Bowl and led the Texans to the AFC South title in each of the last two years.

With Mahomes signing a near-unprecedented 10-year deal featuring a unique structure, Watson will actually be the league's top earner throughout this pact.

Houston selected him with the 12th overall pick in 2017 following Watson's standout career at Clemson, where he won a national title in 2016.
