Best bets to win the Super Bowl: Bills, Colts have title upside

The NFL season is just three days away, which means time is running out to grab the best price on teams to win the Super Bowl. Fortunately, there are still some screaming values on the board, including two mid-tier teams with championship-level rosters.

Here are the odds to win Super Bowl LV and our best bets to win it all.

Baltimore Ravens (+650)

The Ravens were the best team in football last year and one of the most impressive we've seen in decades. They didn't win it all, but they return nearly the entire starting lineup from a 14-win club with a few key additions and a chip on their shoulder after last year's wild-card loss.

With shortened training camps, physicality will prove more important than ever this year, and no team is more physical than the Ravens. They added former All-Pro edge rusher Calais Campbell and first-round linebacker Patrick Queen to a defense that was already elite despite a suspect pass rush and linebacker corps. And a year after breaking the NFL rushing record, they added talented Ohio State product J.K. Dobbins to pair with Lamar Jackson and Co.

Baltimore has the second-ranked offense and defense heading into 2020, according to PFF - the only team with a top-seven unit on both sides of the ball. You're paying a premium here, but there's no safer bet on the board.

Buffalo Bills (+2200)

We've gone into great detail about why the Bills are the best bet, but here's a quick reminder of everything you're getting with a ticket on Buffalo.

The Bills return 21 of 22 starters from their most-used lineups last year and added a star receiver in Stefon Diggs. They're one of three teams to retain their head coach and coordinators for more than two seasons. And they easily have one of the five best rosters from top to bottom and should improve on last year's 10-win campaign.

The only question in Buffalo is whether Josh Allen is ready to take the next step after making a sizable leap from 2018 to 2019. A bad year from the quarterback puts the Bills at 8-8, while a great one could lead them to the Super Bowl.

Indianapolis Colts (+2500)

In many ways, the Colts had the building blocks of a championship team in 2019. Their offensive line is the best in the NFL and their linebackers are elite, and they were among the league's best last year at defending the run and preventing big plays in the passing game. But they were missing two key elements: a downfield passing game and an effective pass rush.

Neither should be an issue this year. Philip Rivers is one of the NFL's most aggressive passers and gets to reunite with former Chargers offensive coordinator Frank Reich behind the best offensive line the quarterback has ever played behind, and DeForest Buckner is an elite interior pass-rusher whose presence will improve the unit as a whole.

Add those two to a roster that already teased title upside a year ago, and it's surprising to see odds this long. The Titans are a formidable division foe, but it's hard to imagine the Colts missing the playoffs, and they're built to dominate in January.
