Bears' Nagy emphasizes Trubisky 'won' job over Foles
The Chicago Bears didn't hand Mitchell Trubisky his starting job back - the quarterback took it, according to head coach Matt Nagy.
"Mitch won the job," Nagy said, according to Patrick Finley of the Chicago Sun-Times. "I think that's very important for him, to us, to understand that he worked very hard to get to this point.
"For him to come through the way he did, I'm excited for him."
Trubisky was in a camp battle with Nick Foles, who the Bears acquired via trade this offseason.
During camp, the 26-year-old improved his footwork, accuracy, and command, Nagy said, according to ESPN's Jeff Dickerson.
Trubisky will most likely have a short leash as the starter, but he says he won't be looking over his shoulder entering his fourth season.
"I control my own destiny, and I'm definitely not going to take this opportunity for granted," he said Sunday.
