Cincinnati Bengals tight end C.J. Uzomah will miss the remainder of the season after suffering a torn Achilles Thursday against the Cleveland Browns, head coach Zac Taylor announced Friday, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer's Tyler Dragon.
Uzomah's loss is a blow to Cincinnati's offense since he was developing strong early chemistry with rookie quarterback Joe Burrow.
The tight end caught four passes for 42 yards and a touchdown before he left the Bengals' 35-30 loss. The 27-year-old also had four grabs for 45 yards in Week 1.
Second-year tight end Drew Sample will likely take over for Uzomah. Sample had seven catches for 45 yards Thursday.
