Falcons place 1st-round pick Terrell on COVID-19 reserve
The Atlanta Falcons placed rookie cornerback A.J. Terrell on the COVID-19 reserve list, making him ineligible to play in Week 3, the team announced Saturday.
Terrell, the Falcons' first-round pick out of Clemson, started the first two games of the campaign. He collected five tackles in the season opener against the Seattle Seahawks and six tackles in his second outing versus the Dallas Cowboys.
Atlanta was already thin in the secondary entering Sunday's contest with the Chicago Bears, as the club had ruled out Kendall Sheffield and Ricardo Allen due to injuries.
The COVID-19 reserve list is for players who either tested positive or came into close contact with an infected person.
Falcons got the news about CB A.J. Terrell's test today; it was from a test he took Friday morning. Terrell practiced Friday. Now immediate contact tracing goes into effect, per league protocols, but the Falcons have not gotten any other positive test results. https://t.co/0mqy9dNLUG
