Titans, Vikings close facilities after positive Tennessee COVID-19 tests
The Tennessee Titans had three players and five personnel test positive for COVID-19, the NFL announced Tuesday, per Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
Tennessee placed defensive tackle DaQuan Jones, long snapper Beau Brinkley, and practice-squad tight end Tommy Hudson on the NFL's reserve/COVID-19 list later Tuesday afternoon.
The Titans will suspend in-person activities starting Tuesday "out of (an) abundance of caution," the team said in a statement. The Minnesota Vikings - who hosted Tennessee on Sunday - will also work remotely, the league confirmed.
No decision has been made regarding the Titans' Week 4 matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers, a source told ESPN's Dianna Russini. Tennessee reportedly won't be allowed in its facilities until Saturday.
The Vikings announced they haven't received any positive tests following Sunday's matchup, adding that they will perform additional testing.
The Steelers said the league told them to proceed as if their game against the Titans will go ahead on Sunday, per Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.
The Titans' situation marks the first major in-season test of the NFL's planned response to a COVID-19 outbreak.
While the league dealt with a number of positive tests during training camp in August, no players had previously tested positive during the regular season.
