Report: Eagles' Goedert to miss a couple of weeks with ankle fracture
Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert is expected to be sidelined for a couple of weeks after suffering a "very small" ankle fracture, sources told Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
He was placed on the injured reserve Tuesday. The third-year pro reportedly won't require surgery.
Goedert suffered the injury in Week 3, exiting in the first half of the Eagles' 23-23 tie with the Cincinnati Bengals.
Goedert saw an uptick in targets through the first two weeks, surpassing star teammate Zach Ertz as Carson Wentz's preferred tight end in the passing game.
In three appearances this season, the South Dakota State product has notched 13 receptions for a team-high 138 yards and one touchdown.
The Eagles will take their 0-2-1 record into a Week 4 tilt against the San Francisco 49ers.
