Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Leonard Fournette is a surprise active for the team's Thursday Night Football contest against the Chicago Bears after being listed as doubtful with an ankle injury.

The Buccaneers got additional good news ahead of the game when Mike Evans was also ruled active after dealing with an ankle injury of his own.

Fournette and Evans' availability is welcome news for a Tampa Bay squad that will be without running back LeSean McCoy and wide receiver Chris Godwin.

Fournette, 25, has rushed for 124 yards and two touchdowns in three games with the Buccaneers. The former LSU standout spent the first three seasons of his NFL career with the Jacksonville Jaguars, running for 2,631 yards and 17 touchdowns.

Tom Brady will have his favorite passing target available once again: Evans, 27, leads the team with five touchdowns and 17 receptions this season.
