Giants looking into video showing Jones, Barkley partying without masks
The New York Giants' embarrassing week might have just gotten worse.
The team said Saturday it's aware of a video showing quarterback Daniel Jones and running back Saquon Barkley failing to socially distance and wear masks while partying at a bar.
"We are looking into the nature and context of what is on the video," the team said in a statement, per ESPN.
Jones and Barkley - who is out for the season due to a torn ACL - had dinner with some teammates and friends in a private room of a restaurant Friday night, a source told ESPN's Jordan Raanan.
Afterward, the two players reportedly were invited to a Manhattan bar, where the video of Jones sharing a drink with a woman was seemingly taken.
The video was posted to Instagram by a man who goes by DJ Lugghead, but it was later deleted.
In an email sent to NJ Advance Media's Zack Rosenblatt on Saturday, a person claiming to be DJ Lugghead said the video was from last year and insisted the bar in question wasn't open.
DJ Lugghead also seemingly posted a photo with Jones and Barkley, who were both maskless.
The Giants blew a late lead to the divisional rival Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday that dropped them to 1-6 and likely ended their playoff chances. Jones was also widely mocked for tripping on an 80-yard run.
Both players could be subject to discipline from the NFL and Giants as the league and union reportedly agreed to ban gatherings outside club facilities earlier in October as part of their COVID-19 protocols.
