Report: Cowboys will cut Poe, Worley if unable to trade
The Dallas Cowboys continue to make changes to their struggling defense.
Dallas informed defensive tackle Dontari Poe and cornerback Daryl Worley that they'll be released Wednesday if the team can't trade them, sources told Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
The Cowboys traded pass-rusher Everson Griffen to the Detroit Lions on Tuesday for a reported conditional sixth-round pick.
Dallas ranks last in scoring defense (34.7 points per game) and rushing yards allowed (178.3 yards per game), and 27th in total yards allowed (408.1 per game). The unit also has created just three turnovers (one interception, two forced fumbles).
Poe has seven total tackles and zero sacks in seven appearances. Meanwhile, Worley has 14 tackles and one pass defense. Both players signed with Dallas as free agents this past offseason.
