Report: Mixon not practicing Friday, Bernard could get 2nd straight start
Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon isn't practicing Friday as he continues to nurse his foot injury, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
With Mixon once again sidelined during on-field drills this week, it appears likely that Giovani Bernard will start his second straight game.
Mixon, Cincinnati's starting tailback, injured his foot in Week 6 versus the Indianapolis Colts and hasn't practiced since.
In his absence, Bernard carried the ball 13 times for 37 yards in a Week 8 loss to the Cleveland Browns, adding five receptions for 59 yards.
The Bengals face the Tennessee Titans on Sunday before entering a bye in Week 9.
Mixon has rushed for 428 yards and three touchdowns through six games this season. He also caught 21 passes for 138 yards and one score.
