Titans acquire King from Chargers for 6th-rounder
The Los Angeles Chargers traded defensive back Desmond King to the Tennessee Titans, the team officially announced Monday.
The Chargers will receive a 2021 sixth-round pick in exchange for King.
King earned first-and second-team All-Pro honors in 2018 as a defensive back and punt returner, respectively.
Los Angeles held the 25-year-old out of Sunday's loss to the Denver Broncos due to what head coach Anthony Lynn called a "team decision."
Selected by the Chargers in the fifth round in 2017, King is set to become an unrestricted free agent after this season.
The Titans needed to upgrade their secondary as they enter the second half of the season in a two-horse race with the Indianapolis Colts for the AFC South crown.
Tennessee has allowed 268.7 passing yards per game through eight weeks, the sixth-worst mark in the league.
