Report: Packers' Williams deemed high-risk contact of Dillon, out for TNF

The Green Bay Packers appear very thin at running back heading into Thursday Night Football.

Jamaal Williams and linebacker Kamal Martin were designated as high-risk close contacts of rookie A.J. Dillon and will miss Thursday's game against the San Francisco 49ers, a source told NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

Dillon tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday and also won't play. With starter Aaron Jones nursing a calf injury, Green Bay may be left with Dexter Williams and Tyler Ervin at running back.

Any player with a high-risk close-contact exposure must isolate for five days. Williams and Martin were exposed Sunday, meaning they'll be unable to rejoin the team until Saturday at the earliest, Pelissero adds.

Williams started each of the last two games in place of Jones, amassing 152 rushing yards and one touchdown. Martin, a fifth-round rookie, also started his last two contests after being activated from injured reserve.

Jones was limited in Monday's practice and Green Bay has yet to determine his playing status against the 49ers.

There were reportedly no new positives for the Packers in Monday's round of testing following Dillon's results. Thursday's game in Santa Clara remains on schedule.
