Dolphins acquire Washington with Gaskin nursing MCL injury
The Miami Dolphins acquired running back DeAndre Washington and a seventh-round draft pick from the Kansas City Chiefs for a sixth-round selection.
Both draft choices involved in the deal are conditional.
Miami was motivated to make the move after learning Myles Gaskin will miss around three weeks with an MCL sprain, reports Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald.
Washington appeared in one game for the Chiefs, rushing three times for five yards and catching one pass for two yards. The 27-year-old spent the first four years of his career with the Las Vegas Raiders.
As a rookie in 2016, Washington rushed for 467 yards and two touchdowns. He's proven to be a capable receiver out of the backfield throughout his career.
The Dolphins opened a roster spot earlier in the day after dealing wide receiver Isaiah Ford to the New England Patriots for a seventh-round pick in 2022.
