Report: Browns' Ward to miss multiple weeks with calf strain
Cleveland Browns cornerback Denzel Ward is expected to miss a few weeks after suffering a calf strain in Sunday's win over the Philadelphia Eagles, sources told Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.
Ward appeared to confirm his injury on Instagram:
The 2018 first-round pick is in line to miss this Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars and a Week 13 matchup with the fellow AFC playoff-contender Tennessee Titans.
The Browns have a vital AFC North showdown with the Baltimore Ravens in Week 14.
It's unknown if Cleveland will place Ward - who leads the league in pass defenses (15) and is tied for the most interceptions on his team (two) - on injured reserve. If it does, he'll be required to miss at least three weeks.
Terrance Mitchell, Kevin Johnson, Tavierre Thomas, and Robert Jackson will lead Cleveland's secondary in Ward's absence.
