Panthers expect Bridgewater back Week 12, McCaffrey likely out
Carolina Panthers quarterback Teddy Bridgewater is expected to return Sunday versus the Minnesota Vikings after his one-game absence, head coach Matt Rhule told reporters Wednesday, including The Athletic's Joe Person.
However, star running back Christian McCaffrey is unlikely to suit up in Week 12, Rhule added.
Bridgewater sprained his MCL in Week 10 and missed last week's win over the Detroit Lions. P.J. Walker started in his place.
In his first season as a full-time starter since 2015, Bridgewater is completing 72% of his pass attempts while throwing for 2,552 yards, 13 touchdowns, and seven interceptions across 10 games.
Meanwhile, McCaffrey suffered a shoulder injury in Week 9 against the Kansas City Chiefs, his first appearance after being sidelined for six contests due to an ankle issue.
The All-Pro tailback could reportedly be sidelined for multiple weeks, meaning veteran Mike Davis will continue to shoulder the load against Minnesota.
