Eagles' Ertz set to return vs. Packers
The Philadelphia Eagles' offense is set for a major boost ahead of the season's final stretch.
Tight end Zach Ertz was activated from the injured reserve Wednesday, setting him up to return from a five-game absence Sunday against the Green Bay Packers.
Ertz was the subject of trade rumors amid the Eagles' poor start to the campaign. However, the ankle injury he suffered just prior to the deadline prohibited Philadelphia from making a move.
The veteran has led the Eagles in catches for four straight seasons, and he'll now be tasked with revitalizing the team's stagnant offense and helping to end Carson Wentz's slump.
Philadelphia sits third in the NFC East at 3-7 after a three-game losing streak. The Washington Football Team and New York Giants own 4-7 records.
The Eagles also announced that wide receiver J.J. Arcega-Whiteside has been removed from the reserve/COVID-19 list.
