Panthers' Moore, Samuel among 8 players added to COVID-19 list
Carolina Panthers wide receivers DJ Moore and Curtis Samuel are among eight players who have been added to the team's COVID-19 reserve group, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Moore tested positive, Rapoport reports, while Samuel is one of several who were in close contact with him.
Other notable players put on the reserve list include Derrick Brown, Zach Kerr, Shaq Thompson, Greg Little, and Michael Palardy. Practice squad receiver Ishmael Hyman will join them too.
Two Panthers players tested positive, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter. The club closed its facility for Monday and Tuesday.
Players added to the reserve/COVID-19 list either tested positive or were deemed a close contact of an infected person.
Moore leads the Panthers in receiving yards (924) and receiving touchdowns (four). His yardage total also ranks ninth in the league.
The Panthers placed rookie defensive end Yetur Gross-Matos and practice squad defensive tackle Bruce Hector on the reserve/COVID-19 list last week. Carolina hadn't placed a player on the reserve list since Oct. 23.
