The Green Bay Packers announced Tuesday that attendance at Lambeau Field would be limited to team employees and their families for the remainder of the season.
The team made the decision with an eye toward rising COVID-19 cases nationwide.
The Packers allowed roughly 500 employees and their families to Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles. The team was hopeful about letting fans return to the historic stadium at some point this season.
"While our community and state currently are seeing a promising trend in the infection rates, we made the decision, along with our health care and public health partners, to continue hosting only the group of employees and their families," Packers president and CEO Mark Murphy said in a statement.
