Report: Lions' Okudah to have groin surgery, miss rest of season
Detroit Lions rookie cornerback Jeff Okudah will miss the rest of the season due to a groin injury that will require surgery, a source told The Detroit Free Press' Dave Birkett.
The No. 3 overall pick in April's draft missed the last two games with a shoulder injury.
While Okudah's shoulder is no longer an issue, he reportedly elected to have the procedure on his groin Tuesday in order to have a full offseason to get ready for 2021. The ailment has apparently plagued Okudah since his time at Ohio State.
Detroit sits at 5-7 and is close to being eliminated from playoff contention.
Okudah produced an inconsistent first season in the NFL. He allowed 41 catches and two touchdowns on 53 targets for a passer rating of 118.0 in nine appearances. The rookie also has one interception and 47 total tackles.
