Report: Steelers' Conner to miss MNF with quad injury
Pittsburgh Steelers running back James Conner won't play against the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday Night Football due to a quad injury, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Conner was deemed questionable Saturday on the final injury report in the lead-up to the Week 15 capper. He logged limited practices Friday and Saturday, but Pittsburgh downgraded his status roughly four-and-a-half hours before kickoff.
Conner has played once since Week 11, missing time after testing positive for COVID-19. The fourth-year rusher has been in and out of the lineup throughout the season because of various ailments.
With Conner out, the Steelers figure to rely more on Benny Snell, who's likely to draw the start versus Cincinnati, according to Schefter.
In 11 appearances this season, Conner has rushed for 663 yards and five touchdowns while averaging 4.3 yards per carry.
The Steelers are looking to get back on track against the Bengals, as they've dropped two straight following their 11-0 start to the season.
