There will be no quarterback change for the New England Patriots this week.

Cam Newton is expected to start against the Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football, a source told ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.

Patriots head coach Bill Belichick left the door open for second-year quarterback Jarrett Stidham to see more playing time following Week 15's 22-12 loss to the Miami Dolphins. The defeat officially ended New England's 11-year postseason streak. However, Belichick will apparently stick with Newton as the team's starting passer.

In 13 games, Newton has thrown for 2,381 yards, five touchdowns, and 10 interceptions. The 31-year-old has also rushed for 489 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Over the Patriots' last four outings, the Auburn alum passed for one touchdown to three interceptions.

Meanwhile, Stidham has just 212 yards, two touchdown passes, and three interceptions in his four appearances this season, with a 54.5% completion percentage.

Newton is set to become a free agent at the conclusion of the season after signing a one-year deal this past offseason.
