Each week, we highlight the best NFL betting trends and angles to consider as you prepare for the weekend's action. Here are some notable trends ahead of Week 17.
Dolphins at Bills (-3, 43), 1 p.m. ET
Both teams are trends darlings entering this week - the Dolphins are an NFL-best 11-4 against the spread this year with a 6-2 ATS record as underdogs, while the Bills have covered seven straight and are 7-4 ATS as favorites. Buffalo has gone 5-2 ATS in its last seven vs. Miami but is an NFL-worst 6-16-2 ATS in its last 24 games in Week 17.
Trend play: Bills -3
Cowboys (-2.5, 45) at Giants, 1 p.m.
Both of these teams enter Sunday with a chance to win the NFC East, but the trends love this spot for only one of them. The Giants are 8-5 ATS this year as underdogs, while the Cowboys are 1-5 ATS as favorites this season and 2-5 ATS on the road.
Trend play: Giants +2.5
Packers (-5.5, 51.5) at Bears, 4:25 p.m.
The Bears need to win this game to secure a spot in the playoffs, but they face a tough test against the Packers, who have gone 19-7 ATS versus their NFC North rivals since Aaron Rodgers became the full-time starter in 2008. Green Bay is also 38-22-1 ATS over that stretch when favored in a divisional game.
Trend play: Packers -5.5
Jaguars at Colts (-14, 49.5), 4:25 p.m.
Only five teams have given as many points as the Colts are laying on Sunday, boding well for their chances of covering against the Jaguars. Those five teams went 3-1-1 ATS this year, while squads giving at least two touchdowns are 30-14-1 ATS since 2015.
Trend play: Colts -14
