NFL referee Clay Martin has been admitted to an Oklahoma hospital after a bout with COVID-19, according to Barry Lewis of Tulsa World.

Martin has missed three consecutive weeks of NFL action after being placed on the league's COVID-19 list.

The official had been quarantining at home for roughly two weeks before the hospitalization.

Martin confirmed the hospitalization in a note to a high school basketball team he coaches.

"I'm going to be in the hospital for a little while. Keep practicing and working hard and I will look forward to rejoining you soon," Martin said, according to Jenks Public School director of communications Rob Loeber.

Martin's family also released a statement thanking friends and loved ones for well wishes.

"Our family is very appreciative of all of the heartwarming messages that we're receiving. Clay is receiving medical attention at St. Francis," the statement read.
