Ehlinger leaves the Longhorns as one of the most productive quarterbacks in school history. His 11,436 career passing yards and 94 touchdowns rank second all time for the program.
The senior likely lacks the size, arm strength, and anticipation to be a high-end prospect, but his experience and dual-threat ability will likely land him somewhere in the middle rounds.
Texas is in the midst of a number of changes, as it also fired head coach Tom Herman on Saturday. Alabama offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian was named Herman's replacement shortly after.
With Ehlinger gone, the quarterback room currently features Hudson Card, Casey Thompson, and incoming freshman Charles Wright.
