Cleveland Browns rookie left tackle Jedrick Wills Jr. and wideout Rashard Higgins were cited for drag racing Tuesday morning, ESPN's Jake Trotter reports.

Police pulled the players over around 9:30 a.m. ET and handed them $124 tickets, according to a Westlake police report obtained by ESPN. A probable cause search of one of the vehicles reportedly found a suspected marijuana joint, but neither player was cited for it.

A Browns spokesperson said the team is aware of the incident and gathering more information, according to Trotter.

Higgins tweeted Tuesday evening that his "foot slipped," and he was trying to "get away from" COVID-19 before deleting both posts, according to Trotter.

The two will plead not guilty to the charges, according to their attorney, via NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

Cleveland has been dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak, resulting in head coach Kevin Stefanski, guard Joel Bitonio, and receiver KhaDarel Hodge testing positive, the team announced Tuesday. They'll all be unavailable for Sunday's wild-card playoff game against the rival Pittsburgh Steelers. The team's facility was closed Tuesday too.
