Titans' Vrabel: Refs weren't 'calling any penalties' in wild-card loss
It's fair to say Mike Vrabel wasn't thrilled with the officiating during Sunday's wild-card loss to the Baltimore Ravens.
The Tennessee Titans head coach told reporters after the game that the referees "were clearly not calling any penalties," instead looking to stick around and earn spots for later in the playoffs, according to Paul Kuharsky.
Vrabel admitted he was frustrated throughout the contest, but referred specifically to Marcus Peters' game-sealing interception off quarterback Ryan Tannehill.
The head coach wanted Baltimore to be called for pass interference on the play, but he said the referees told him that a penalty wasn't called because wide receiver Kalif Raymond ran into Peters during his route, per ESPN's Turron Davenport.
Though Vrabel had issues with the officiating, he refused to comment on Ravens players celebrating on the Titans' logo late in the contest.
"I coach the Titans, not the Ravens," he said, via team writer Jim Wyatt.
Tennessee finished with more than 10 wins for the first time since 2008, though it failed to repeat last year's run to the AFC Championship Game.
