Report: Veldheer signing with Pack, will play for 2nd playoff team in 2 weeks
Offensive lineman Jared Veldheer may go from retirement to playing in the NFL playoffs for two different teams.
The veteran stepped in for injured left tackle Anthony Castonzo in the Indianapolis Colts' wild-card loss to the Buffalo Bills on Saturday. Now, Veldheer is signing with the Green Bay Packers ahead of their divisional-round matchup with the Los Angeles Rams, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
He'll become the first NFL player to play in two playoff games for two different teams in the same postseason.
The Colts signed Veldheer to their practice squad Dec. 31. They promoted him to the active roster for their matchup against the Bills with Castonzo on the shelf due to a season-ending ankle injury. After the game, Veldheer reverted back to the practice squad and was thus allowed to be poached by the Packers.
Green Bay also lost its star left tackle, David Bakhtiari, to a season-ending knee injury.
