Wolford ruled out, Goff to start vs. Packers
Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay announced Thursday that quarterback John Wolford will not play in Saturday's divisional-round matchup as he continues to battle a neck injury.
Jared Goff will start against the Green Bay Packers as a result, with Blake Bortles operating as his backup.
Wolford started last week's wild-card game win over the Seattle Seahawks but was hurt when safety Jamal Adams hit him in the head on a run early in the contest.
The 2018 undrafted free agent was taken to hospital as a precaution but returned to celebrate his team's win in the locker room.
Goff battled an injury of his own to end the regular season. He missed Week 17 after undergoing surgery on his right thumb and was questionable entering the wild-card game.
He completed 9 of 19 passes for 155 yards and a touchdown against Seattle after entering the game in place of Wolford.
