Report: Seahawks speak with Pederson regarding OC job
The Seattle Seahawks have spoken with former Philadelphia Eagles head coach Doug Pederson regarding their offensive coordinator job, sources told NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.
Philadelphia parted ways with Pederson on Monday after five seasons. Reports surfaced this week that the former Super Bowl champion could take a year off, but his options are developing, and he could also draw interest for other head coaching vacancies, Pelissero adds.
Former Los Angeles Chargers boss Anthony Lynn has also reportedly been in contact with Seattle regarding its OC opening and is among the top candidates for the job.
The Seahawks recently dismissed Brian Schottenheimer, citing "philosophical differences." Head coach Pete Carroll stated his desire to establish the running game following his team's playoff exit.
Pederson's offense ranked 25th this season while battling a number of injuries and inconsistencies at quarterback, but the coach fielded a scoring unit that finished in the top half from 2017-2019.
He served as the Kansas City Chiefs' offensive coordinator for three years before taking the Eagles job.
