Sherman thinks Watson should go to Jets 'as quickly as possible'

Richard Sherman offered a potential solution for Deshaun Watson's frustration with the Houston Texans: team up with Sherman's former defensive coordinator.

The San Francisco 49ers cornerback, who's scheduled to hit free agency this offseason, believes Watson should angle for a trade to the New York Jets, who recently hired Robert Saleh as their new head coach.

"If I was Deshaun, I'd get out of there as quickly as possible," Sherman said on "The Cris Collinsworth Podcast," according to Justin Tasch of the New York Post. "I'd head to New York."

Sherman added: "It would be the most beautiful (match). Decent offensive line. They'd have to find some threats, they'd have to find some offensive weapons, but I think there would be a lot more people excited to be there. ... I'd be out of there on the first thing smokin'."

Watson has been involved in trade speculation after he reportedly expressed frustration with the club over being left out of the team's general manager and head coaching searches.

People within the Texans organization have apparently speculated that the star quarterback has played his final snap with the club.

"They're saying (Watson is) not answering any calls or any texts - I wouldn't either," Sherman said. "He's done everything. He's taken a beating for you guys and played efficiently."

The Jets currently hold the second overall pick in this year's draft and could potentially offer Houston one of the more intriguing packages to acquire Watson.
