Nick Sirianni declined to name a starting quarterback while being introduced as the Philadelphia Eagles' new head coach Friday.

"Naming a starter, that hasn't even crossed my mind," he told reporters, according to The MMQB's Albert Breer.

The Eagles are coming off a tumultuous 4-11-1 season, during which rookie Jalen Hurts eventually claimed Carson Wentz's starting job. Hurts played well down the stretch, while Wentz reportedly began preparing to seek a trade in the event Doug Pederson returned as head coach.

"We have two quarterbacks in Carson Wentz and Jalen Hurts that are top-notch," Sirianni said, per ESPN's Field Yates. "A lot of teams don't have any. I'm excited to work with both of them."

Sirianni spent the last three seasons as offensive coordinator of the Indianapolis Colts. He said he's spoken to Wentz and classified their conversations as positive but couldn't say whether the 28-year-old will be back in Philadelphia next season.

"I can't answer that," he said, according to Breer.

After throwing only seven interceptions in each of the previous three seasons, Wentz tossed 15 in 12 outings this year. He signed a four-year, $128-million extension in June 2019.
