The Las Vegas Raiders will release wide receiver Tyrell Williams before the new league year, a source told NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.
Between base salary and an offseason workout bonus, the move will clear $11.6 million off the Raiders' salary cap for 2021.
Williams missed the 2020 season after suffering a torn labrum in the summer. The wideout notched 42 receptions for 651 yards and six touchdowns the previous year.
The Oregon native spent his first four seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers before moving to the rival Raiders on a four-year deal worth $44.4 million in 2019. Williams, who turns 29 on Friday, had a 1,000-yard campaign with the Chargers in 2016.
