The San Francisco 49ers are re-signing cornerback Jason Verrett to a one-year contract worth $5.5 million, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
The effective but oft-injured defender turned down a multi-year offer in favor of the one-year contract, Rapoport reports.

Verrett played 13 games in 2020 after missing the previous two seasons with injuries. He recorded 60 tackles, seven pass breakups, and two interceptions.
Physical setbacks have kept Verrett from playing a full 16-game season. He appeared in 25 contests for the Los Angeles Chargers from 2014 to 2017, notching 19 pass breakups and seven picks.
