Free-agent tight end Gerald Everett is signing a one-year, $6-million contract with the Seattle Seahawks, reports Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Everett, who played his first four seasons with the NFC West rival Los Angeles Rams, appeared to confirm his new team by referencing the famous "12th Man" in Seattle.
Everett should have a chance to move into a starting role full-time with the Seahawks after serving as Tyler Higbee's backup for the Rams. The 26-year-old has put up over 400 yards receiving in back-to-back seasons and will join a Seattle team that lacks an established top-tier tight end.
The Seahawks have been quiet to start to free agency, with Everett and cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon representing their only external additions.
