Report: Tebow worked out for Jaguars at TE
Tim Tebow, a former 2010 first-round pick and minor league baseball player, recently worked out for the Jacksonville Jaguars at tight end, a source told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Tebow played quarterback for the New York Jets and Denver Broncos between 2010-12. He also signed with the New England Patriots in 2013 and Philadelphia Eagles in 2015 but never played a game with the teams.
The Jaguars hired Urban Meyer, Tebow's college coach at Florida, as their head coach in January.
There's been at least some discussion between Tebow and the franchise about signing a contract, Rapoport adds.
The 33-year-old resisted switching to tight end in his previous NFL stint, according to Rapoport.
Tebow transitioned to baseball after leaving the NFL. He joined the Arizona Fall League in 2016 and spent time in the New York Mets' minor league system from 2017-19. Tebow retired from baseball in February after making 287 appearances. He fell just short of the bigs, reaching as high as the Triple-A level.
Tebow and Meyer enjoyed a great deal of success together at Florida. They won a national championship in 2006 and 2008, and Tebow won the Heisman Trophy in 2007.
