Report: Saints interested in trading up for Caleb Farley
The New Orleans Saints are exploring trading up in the first round of the draft.
The Saints are interested in cornerback Caleb Farley, according to Charles Robinson of Yahoo Sports, and feel they might need to get ahead of the Tennessee Titans to land him.
New Orleans currently holds the 28th overall selection and the Titans have the 22nd pick.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport also reports that New Orleans is interested in moving up in the draft but isn't sure if the team would do so for Farley.
The former Virginia Tech standout will not attend the draft after testing positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday. Farley is asymptomatic, his agent said Wednesday.
The 22-year-old also dealt with back injuries over the past two years, which led to a pair of surgeries. Farley opted out of the 2020 college football season due to the pandemic.
The Saints have a need at cornerback after releasing former starter Janoris Jenkins. Pro Bowler Marshon Lattimore is entering the final year of his rookie contract with the club.
Patrick Robinson, Grant Haley, and Keith Washington Jr. round out a group that lacks experience.
