Antonio Brown facing civil lawsuit over assault, battery allegations

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Antonio Brown is facing a civil lawsuit stemming from an altercation with a moving truck driver in January 2020, according to Broward County records obtained by Matt Baker of the Tampa Bay Times.

Brown, along with his trainer Glenn Holt, both face one count of battery and one count of assault.

The lawsuit, filed on behalf of driver Anton Tumanov, extends from a previously settled criminal case involving the veteran wideout.

Tumanov moved Brown's belongings from California to Hollywood, Florida, last January and was allegedly "met with resistance and violence" from Brown and Holt.

The suit claims the two "proceeded to verbally and physically attack (Tumanov), causing severe personal injuries," and the driver "continues to suffer severe bodily injuries, pecuniary losses, and mental anguish."

Brown was arrested in January 2020 as a result of the incident with Tumanov. The Bucs receiver pleaded no contest to a felony burglary charge and misdemeanor charges of battery and criminal mischief last June. Brown received two years of probation.

Last month, the 32-year-old reached a settlement with his former personal trainer, who was suing him for sexual assault.
