Report: Broncos' Hamilton tears ACL before potential trade
Denver Broncos wide receiver DaeSean Hamilton tore his ACL, sources told NFL Network's Taylor Bisciotti.
The Broncos reportedly decided to cut ties with Hamilton on Thursday but held off on waiving him as trade interest picked up. A deal likely would've been finalized after rookie camp, reports Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
A fourth-round pick in 2018, Hamilton has caught five touchdowns and put up 833 yards over 46 career appearances for Denver. Hamilton was buried on the Broncos' depth chart, which includes four promising wideouts in Courtland Sutton, Jerry Jeudy, K.J. Hamler, and Tim Patrick.
Denver's right tackle, Ja'Wuan James, also suffered a significant injury while training earlier this offseason, as he tore his Achilles. Like James, Hamilton was working out away from the team facility, according to the Denver Post's Ryan O'Halloran.
