Jets' Becton sidelined at OTAs with foot injury
New York Jets left tackle Mekhi Becton isn't participating in on-field drills at organized team activities because of a foot injury.
The 363-pounder is dealing with plantar fasciitis, reports NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
"As you know, he's a very large human being, so we've asked him to stay off his feet," head coach Robert Saleh said Friday, according to SNY's Ralph Vacchiano.
Becton is coming off a promising rookie season in which he established himself as a long-term building block for the Jets. New York selected him 11th overall in the 2020 draft out of Louisville.
Saleh noted that Becton won't need surgery, and Rapoport reports he should be healed in time for training camp in July.
The Jets have been looking to improve their offensive line after the unit struggled mightily last year, and Saleh confirmed the club recently met with former Washington Football Team right tackle Morgan Moses.
