New York Giants star Saquon Barkley is planning to have 100% of his future endorsements paid through Bitcoin.

Barkley, 24, told "The Best Business Show with Anthony Pompliano" on Wednesday that he's hoping to create generational wealth, something he believes isn't possible solely through playing as a running back.

"You see the KDs, the Lebrons, the Bradys of the world, you want to create generational wealth," Barkley said. "You can't do that just off of (your salary alone), especially in the sport that I play and the position that I play.

"Coming off of injury, that's kind of the stuff that makes more sense. When you sit out of football for a whole year, you realize that this game could be taken away from you."

Barkley missed all but two contests in 2020 after suffering a torn ACL. He's currently on a four-year, $31.1-million deal, though the Giants picked up his $7.2-million fifth-year option in April, according to Spotrac.

Barkley remains mum on his status ahead of the 2021 campaign, as he wouldn't guarantee his return for New York's Sept. 12 season opener.

The 2018 Offensive Rookie of the Year has tallied 3,563 scrimmage yards and 23 total touchdowns during his career.
