Washington, Allen agree to 4-year, $72M extension

The Washington Football Team and defensive lineman Jonathan Allen agreed to a four-year, $72-million contract extension that includes a $30-million signing bonus, Allen's agency announced Monday.
Allen was entering the final year of his rookie deal, and he was due $10.1 million.
The 26-year-old celebrated on Twitter:
Washington selected Allen in the first round of the 2017 draft. He's since developed into a key piece of the team's standout defense, racking up 17 sacks and 202 tackles over four seasons.
Allen has started 47 out of 48 regular-season games over the last three years.
