Panthers trade former 2nd-rounder Little to Dolphins
The Carolina Panthers traded offensive tackle Greg Little, who was a second-round pick in 2019, to the Miami Dolphins for a seventh-round choice in 2022, the team announced Tuesday.
Little started six games in two seasons for the Panthers but failed to solidify himself as a long-term building block. Though he came to training camp 12 pounds lighter this year, he didn't appear to be in the mix for a starting job after beginning the preseason opener on the bench, according to The Athletic's Joe Person.
The Dolphins will look to unleash the athletic potential that helped Little become a star at Ole Miss and a second-round pick. He was a five-star recruit in high school, ranked above the likes of eventual first-rounders Nick Bosa, Ed Oliver, Dexter Lawrence, and Derrick Brown.
Miami struggled up front in 2020 while fielding an offensive line short on experience. The Dolphins have Austin Jackson, a first-round pick in 2020, slated to start at left tackle, and veteran Jesse Davis penciled in at right tackle.
