Report: Panthers, Anderson nearing multi-year extension
The Carolina Panthers and wideout Robby Anderson are deep in discussions on a multi-year extension, a source told The Athletic's Joseph Person.
An agreement could be finalized within the next several days, Person reports.
Anderson signed a two-year, $20-million contract with the Panthers in 2020. He's set to earn $8 million this season, per Spotrac.
The 28-year-old logged career highs with 95 receptions and 1,096 receiving yards in his first campaign in Carolina.
Anderson will reunite with quarterback Sam Darnold this season. The former Jets wideout previously spent two campaigns with Darnold, who the Panthers acquired this offseason.
Carolina has prioritized locking up its young core recently. The Panthers extended offensive tackle Taylor Moton in July for four years and $72 million.
