Indianapolis Colts wide receiver T.Y Hilton is being evaluated for a neck injury and is expected to be sidelined for multiple games, head coach Frank Reich announced Sunday, according to Zak Keefer of The Athletic.

"He was experiencing some discomfort on the trip to Detroit, so we had some scans," said Reich. "It's a disc issue. He will miss some games - we're optimistic it's not season-ending."

Hilton suffered the ailment during Wednesday's practice, sources told Keefer and Stephen Holder.

The Colts' offense has been hit hard with injuries during training camp and the preseason. Quarterback Carson Wentz and All-Pro guard Quenton Nelson both suffered foot injuries and may not be available for the start of the campaign.

Michael Pittman and Parris Campbell will lead the AFC South club's passing attack with Hilton sidelined.

Hilton is set to play his 10th year in Indianapolis after signing a one-year deal reportedly worth $10 million this offseason.

The four-time Pro Bowler has struggled with injuries the last three campaigns, missing nine games over that time.

The 31-year-old racked up 56 catches for 762 yards and five touchdowns in 15 appearances in 2020.
