New England Patriots running back James White is expected to miss the remainder of the season with a hip injury he sustained in Week 3, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter and Field Yates.

White was reportedly diagnosed with a subluxation after exiting the Patriots' loss to the New Orleans Saints on Sunday. He rushed for 38 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries over the first three contests of 2021, adding 12 receptions for 94 yards.

A multi-year team captain, White has been a reliable pass-catcher throughout his eight-year career with the Patriots. He's logged more career receiving yards (3,278) and receiving touchdowns (25) than rushing yards (1,278) and rushing touchdowns (11).

White, who scored the game-winning touchdown in overtime of Super Bowl LI, returned to the Patriots on a one-year deal in 2021 after testing free agency for the first time.

New England will forge ahead with Damien Harris, J.J. Taylor, Rhamondre Stevenson, and Brandon Bolden at running back.
