McCaffrey doubtful vs. Eagles despite practice participation
Christian McCaffrey is doubtful to face the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday despite practicing in a limited capacity three times this week.
The Carolina Panthers rusher missed Week 4 after he injured his hamstring in Week 3. Ailments have limited him to six appearances since the start of the 2020 season.
McCaffrey said Thursday he'd "definitely" have a shot at returning against the Eagles. The 25-year-old began practicing in pads Wednesday for the first time since he got hurt.
McCaffrey ran for 201 yards and a touchdown while adding 163 receiving yards over his first three outings this year.
The Panthers leaned on rookie Chuba Hubbard in Week 4 with McCaffrey unavailable. The youngster rushed for 57 yards on 13 carries, good for an average of nearly 4.4 yards per attempt.
McCaffrey will have another chance to get back in the lineup when Carolina hosts the Minnesota Vikings in Week 6.
